Summer Programs 2021

Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) Training  

Description: This program is designed to keep players at optimal fitness throughout the summer and prepare them for the upcoming season.

Cost: $65 (Registration Link)

Days: Thursdays (starts July 8th and ends on August 12th)  

Times: 6:45-7:45pm  

Where: Norwalk High School Track  

Players Invited: incoming freshmen and current high school players  

What you Need: cleats, running shoes and water

 

 

Fitness Camp 

Description: This program is designed to get players to peak fitness levels as the start of the season is less than two weeks away at this point. The camp aims to improve players’ endurance, speed and overall agility and coordination.  

Cost: $50 (Registration Link

When: Monday August 16 – Wednesday August 18 from 6:30-7:45pm  

Where: Norwalk High School Turf

Players Invited: incoming freshmen and current high school players 

What you Need: cleats and water 

 

 

Preseason Camp  

Description: This camp will prepare players technically and tactically for the high school season as it will focus on individual and team defending principles, possession, and finishing. Overall, the camp is designed to prepare players for the expectations and style of play that is standard for all NHS Boys Soccer players. 

Cost: $80 (Registration Link

When: Friday August 20 – Monday August 23 from 6-8pm  

Where: Norwalk High School Turf Field  

Players Invited: incoming freshmen and current high school players 

What you Need: cleats, shin guards, water and ball

1. Wednesday, August 25th from 6-7pm at the NHS Track (MUST wear running shoes)
2. Thursday, August 26th from 7-9am at NHS Turf
3. Thursday, August 26th from 5-7pm at NHS Turf
4. Friday, August 27th from 7-9am at Nathan Hale Lower Turf
5. Friday, August 27th from 3-5pm at Nathan Hale Lower Turf

JV Tryouts: 
1. Saturday, August 28th from 3-5pm at Nathan Hale Lower
2. Sunday, August 29th from 3-5pm at Nathan Hale Lower
3. Monday, August 30th from 3-5pm at Nathan Hale Lower

Freshmen Tryouts:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 
*Players MUST be registered on Final Forms and have an up-to-date physical on file with the NHS School Nurse in order to participate in tryouts – NO EXCEPTIONS

*Cleats, shin guards, ball, and water are required for each tryout participant
*Arrive at least 30 minutes before each tryout for check-in
*Players who have varsity aspirations should be able to run the mile in under 5:45. It takes at least four weeks to get into peak soccer shape. If you show up to tryouts out of shape, you will waste over half of the season trying to get in shape. If you can run the mile in under 5:45 it shows that coaching staff that you trained over the summer and that you want to be apart of the team – NO EXCUSES!
