#4 Norwalk beats #5 Ridgefield to advance to the semi finals
NORWALK– Andres Torres had a goal and an assist to help lift the Bears to an FCIAC quarterfinal victory over the Tigers Friday night at Testa Field.
Norwalk (10-4-2) avenged a 4-3 regular-season loss to Ridgefield. The Tigers are now 9-4-3.
“I thought we played a great all-around game, especially on defense,” Norwalk coach Chris Laughton said.
Torres put the Bears in front 1-0 in the 35th minute with his 16th goal of the season. He assisted on Mike Lepoutre’s insurance goal in the 56th minute.
Norwalk had more shots (8-2) and corner kicks (8-2). Alex Hurd posted his fifth shutout of the season and made two saves.
The Bears beat the Wreckers 1-0 during the season. “We’re excited to play them again,” Laughton said.
