Norwalk booters shut out Darien
DARIEN — The Bears rebounded from their FCIAC tournament loss to Staples by blanking the Blue Wave, 2-0, in a makeup game played on the final day allowable for it to count toward state tournament seedings.
Norwalk (11-4-2) used second-half goals by Tyler Collins in the 58th minute and Matt Surace in the 66th minute to outdistance Darien (7-7-2). Willie Arbieto assisted on Surace’s score.
Alex Hurd made three saves to record the shutout in goal for Norwalk, which outshot the Blue Wave, 11-3.
