Bears clinch top seed for FCIAC playoffs

BRIDGEPORT — The Norwalk boys soccer team clinched the top seed in the upcoming FCIAC playoffs Monday afternoon with a 4-0 victory over winless Harding in Bridgeport.

Spencer Jacoby scored twice for the Bears, who dominated the game from the outset, and Kevin Joslyn and Jake Zuniga also tickled the twine. Fabian Carvajal, Joslyn, Mike Broncati and Andrew Melitsanopoulos picked up assists for Norwalk, which had a 20-1 edge in shots.

Svet Kozak, Jake Ross and Ricky Joslyn combined to shut out Harding (0-14).

Norwalk will face Kolbe Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a non-conference Senior Night clash, and will open FCIAC play Friday with a home game against the yet-to-be-determined No. 8 seed.
