Brien McMahon 4, Norwalk 2 — Trinidad Sanchez scored the game-winning goal with 15 minutes remaining in the second half as the Senators (1-2-3) scored three straight goals in the game’s last 26 minutes to register their first win.
After Luis Vega gave McMahon the initial lead on an assist from Luis Mandujano, Norwalk’s Mike Fraioli tied it at 1-1 late in the first half. Matt Surace gave Norwalk a 2-1 lead at 45:28. Will Bertolino converted a free kick to pull McMahon into a 2-2 tie at 54:50. Armando Vargas added McMahon’s final goal on an assist from Kenny Coppola.
McMahon goalie Taso Petrides had three saves while Michael Jimenez stopped six shots for Norwalk (3-1-1).
“It’s always a big win when you beat Norwalk,” Brien McMahon coach Chris Bacco said. “It’s my first win in my fifth season here against them. It’s always been a dogfight. The boys played very well and connected more consistently tonight, which was really what we’re looking to do. They executed really well.”
