Bears tune up for FCIAC playoffs with win
TRUMBULL — The Norwalk High School boys soccer team raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half and then coasted to a soggy 4-0 victory over St. Joseph Wednesday in Trumbull in their final tuneup for the FCIAC tournament.
With a 7-3-5 record, Norwalk will be the No. 6 seed for the FCIACs and will be on the road in Friday’s opening round against No. 3 Ridgefield.
Nic Zuniga scored twice for the Bears, Chris Puente had a goal and an assist and Willie Arbieto scored. Andres Torres, Mike LePoutre and Spencer Jacoby also drew assists.
Alex Hurd and Jake Ross split the shutout for Norwalk, who outshot the Cadets (4-8-3).
