Surging Bears whip Warde
FAIRFIELD — The Norwalk High boys soccer team broke open a close game with four second half goals on its way to a 5-0 win over Fairfield Warde on Friday at Warde.
The Bears, who are closing in on the top seed for the FCIAC playoffs, improved to 12-1-1. The Mustangs fell to 6-5-3.
“We were playing well and in the second half we put the ball in the net,” Norwalk head coach Chris Laughton said.
Mike Broncati, Kevin Joslyn and Santiago Muriel led the Bears with a goal and an assist apiece. Andrew Melitsanopoulos and Carlos Teyseirre also scored while Nick Zuniga and Matt Capomolla added assists.
Svet Kozak played most of the game in goal before Danny Jakab took over with 15 minutes left in the game. The duo combined for three saves.
